This peaceful location is only 15 minutes from town and airport and makes an ideal base to explore the region with day trips to the Tablelands, Port Douglas and the Daintree. Hikers, birdwatchers and other naturalists can easily access three nearby National Park trailheads (historic Smiths, Douglas and Stoney Creek Weir tracks).
Visitors can take a picnic and explore the magnificent rainforest habitat of Stoney Creek Gorge or enjoy a dip in the chain of rock pools along the way. For the more adventurous there is a network of historic trails leading up into the mountains and the hike to Glacier Rock will reward you with stunning panoramic views over the coast and ranges. | |
